I’ve done a lot of research on the topic of indoor air quality and I work for non profit focused on environmental exposures. Indoor air quality is such an important topic to discuss and there are some simple steps anyone can take to breathe healthier air! Also see my blog about HVAC ventilation for your home.

I wrote a guide for people with sensitivities (allergies, chemicals, etc) but much of the information can be applied to any home:

This guide covers simple tips that anyone can implement to improve indoor air quality. A lot of it comes down to the basics like regular cleaning and maintenance, but there are many things you can do, and they aren’t necessarily expensive or difficult.

Some Info From My Guide

Clean your home regularly and thoroughly

Get in the habit of cleaning floors and flat surfaces in your home on a regular basis (at least weekly) and decluttering. This step alone can have a major impact on the health of your home as heavier particles like large pieces of dust and pollen tend to fall to the ground. Think about doing a deeper clean every 6 months.
